Sleep deprived on Mothers day?
Mother’s day is a special day for all families where all pay tribute to the mothers in their lives. But sometimes the mothers-to-be are forgotten on this day. We at gomalon want to pay tribute to the mothers-to-be and give attention to their special role of nurturing the unborns.
Sleep is a very important factor for a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Here are four great tips from Gomalon for getting better sleep for all you mothers-to-be out there.
1. Food- Stop snacking at night. Have your dinner atleast 2 hours before you go to bed. This will ensure that your body is light, comfortable and ready to relax. Avoid spicy and hot food during nights. Have loads of water during the day and start reducing water intake in the night.
2. Position- The American Pregnancy Association has found out that sleeping on one’s left side during pregnancy is the best posture for getting good sleep. This will reduce the amount of pressure on your uterus and allow you to breathe better.
3. Room- Ensure the temperature in your room is low and at a comfortable range. Get comfortable pillows, prop yourself up and be cozy. Always turn off the lights, keep relaxing music and make the environment conducive for sleep.
4. Rituals- It is good to practice some rituals like doing basic breathing exercises, pranayama and washing your leg with lukewarm salt water to make yourself ready for a deep and long sleep.
Happy Mothers Day to all the lovely mothers out there!
